fabulous fall

It took me so long to carve these pumpkins...Just Kidding, the big one weighs over 1, 000 pounds. The biggest one we got was 26 pounds and it still isn't carved. We will be working on that tonight!

This Fall was certainly busy but it is beginning to slow down. Football and soccer are now officially over. Both kids had their last games on Saturday and it was a nice surprise by Grandma Ruth to come see them.

thanks ash for a great week-end

Ash and the kids, including Krash.

Ash at the pumkin patch, football game and a couple action shots of the kids

A couple shots in Portland

My niece Ashley came out to visit us this week-end. We kept her busy with the usual Saturday activities---football and soccer, plus the pumpkin patch. At home the kids took turns entertaining her playing Scene It, coloring and reading stories. Monday before she left we caught a quick lunch in Portland, showed her around the city a bit and then we had enough time to stop by IKEA. Thanks for coming to see us Ash, we love you!

i am NOT smarter than a 5th grader...

I am not embarrassed by this, I know it is true. I stopped helping Savanna in math in 4th grade. As per my statement in my last post, I asked if I spelled 'poring' right. And in fact I did not. I did however look it up and the correct spelling would be P-O-U-R-I-N-G. That's right, that would be referring to the rain coming down right now and probably won't stop 'til mid June. And here are some pictures of the muddy boy after practice. Unfortunately, it will probably be the 1st of many muddy practices.

ya'll are smarter than me....

I know you are all smarter than me and probably already know this, but if you click on a picture, you can view it in a larger size. I stumbled upon this looking at Jackson's football pictures so take a look, up close and personal! Poor guy, I just dropped him off at football practice in the poring(is that the correct spelling?) rain, (yes, rainy season has begun in the NW). That's devotion! So back to the picture thing, if you click on my birthday picture at Red Robin, you can see Savanna's shiny new braces. Oh the joys of being 12 again!

oh captain, my captain!

So as a 3rd grader, you are kind of low man on the totem pole in football. Jackson doesn't get a lot of playing time so this week when he was chosen as captain I was really proud of him walking out on that field to meet the opposing team and shake hands.(#80 on the left)

happy birthday to me!!!

September birthdays rock---Happy Birthday to Suzette, Caitlin, Elise and me! The kids had school off so my intention was to sleep in. Madi kept bugging me, "When is your birthday going to start?"..."This is boring!" So i got my toes done later that day with a couple of friends, Brandy and Hope. I got them painted Jacksons football colors and his number---#80! We went to Red Robbin for a family birthday celebration where Madi was kind enough to tell the waitress, "It's her birthday!" Ha ha, jokes on mom!! It could have been worse, only couple of balloons around my ears, at least it wasn't a sombrero or giant foam cowboy hat. Then it was Baskin Robbins ice-cream cake for me!!

The next day we did the whole football/soccer thing with the kids and then it was adults night out with the Karps!
(It would appear we have switched partners but just for the picture.)
